Mark and Tom highlight some key differences between active vs. passive funds in 401(k) plans in terms of mutual fund fees.  They compare equity fund expense ratios of funds recommended by Index Funds Advisors (IFA) with Morningstar averages in both domestic and international categories. Expense ratios can predict performance, so it can be advantageous to use low-cost funds. Mark shows the 401(k) blended expense ratios for several IFA Index Portfolios. See related content: Show 28-1Show 28-2Show 28-3.
