This position must be located in the northeast section of the United States. The individual selected for this role will deliver personalized investment solutions to individual and institutional clients. Junior System Administrator

About the Position

The Junior System Administrator is primarily responsible to assist the Information System Manager with a mixture of support and proactive backend server administration. The Junior System Administrator will also handle technical support requests directly from IFA team members and customers. The ideal candidate must be energetic and focused with a strong motivation to learn new technologies, management processes, testing processes and documenting them. The Junior System position requires dedication, persistence, effective utilization of provided resources and the ability to deliver excellent support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience with administrating and maintaining Windows Server 2012 and above
  • High level knowledge of supporting/managing Windows/Mac desktop operating systems
  • Setup/Install new and existing computers and smartphones for new employees
  • Email Administration with high level user management including configuring new accounts, password resets, and troubleshooting user login, profile and permission issues
  • Basic virtualization Administration which may include rebooting virtual machines, resource allocation, basic architecture knowledge
  • Strong domain functionality experience and knowledge of Active Directory services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot Windows and Mac OS related issues at hardware and software levels
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot Remote Desktop Services and VPN (SSL and IPSec)
  • Strong ability to apply security updates to endpoints (Windows/Mac computers) and servers
  • Intermediate knowledge of Backup and Tape Solutions
  • Intermediate knowledge of troubleshooting common remote solutions such as RDP
  • Familiar knowledge of core network components
  • Maintaining standards and documentation on an ongoing basis as procedures and technologies evolve
  • Familiar knowledge of Cloud Technologies (Azure, O365, AWS)
  • Familiar knowledge of mobile device management.
  • Familiar with SIP and cloud-based VoIP Systems
  • Familiar knowledge of Wi-Fi technology

Experience, Education and Certifications

  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience with IT administration and support experience with Windows/Mac administration and management of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy
  • Experience in PowerShell preferred
  • Bachelor's degree desired (High school diploma required)
  • Desired certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+
